The Midlife Gemini's Guide to a Bad Horoscope
Powers of the Zodiac (Book 1)
POWERS OF THE ZODIAC is a hilarious and new midlife magical series from the authors of Down & Dirty Supernatural Cleaning Services!
I’m Maddie, just your typical supermom in a minivan, fulfilling my family's needs while forgetting my own. But now I'm a super powered woman riding shotgun on the back of a hot demigod's a motorcycle.
How is this my life?
It started on the night my husband died, which is when I also found out he was married to two other women! It really confused the whole grieving process.
Even worse, the cheater left me to deal with the fallout from his messy business dealing magical artifacts - including a magic globe that's given me strange powers. Suddenly I can split in two...or even three!
There's also the sexy demigod I mentioned, Aden, who tells me that our fates are intertwined. Even though he acts like I get him all hot and bothered, I'm pretty sure he just wants to get his hands on the artifact. But what if I'm wrong...is it possible this superpowered hottie actually wants me - boring old Maddie?
Somehow I have to figure out how to keep my family safe, what to do with these new powers, and if I'm
ready for a second chance at love!
This is book 1 in the Powers of the Zodiac series. Join Maddie, Helena, and Crystal as they navigate their newly found magical midlife powers.

Excerpt:
“Jiminy cricket,” I mutter as I hit my third red light. There’s a low chuckle from behind me. I whip around to find Aden sitting in the pilot chair directly behind the front passenger seat.
He grins back at me. “Happy birthday, lovely Lena.”
Lena. That was the name he bestowed on me, insisting that Maddie didn’t fit me.
I gasp and then sputter, “Who what how,” before getting a hold of myself. I stab the button on my front console that opens the sliding door. “Out!” I order, pointing to the exit beside him.
He jerks his chin in the direction of the front windshield. “Light’s green and I think that ornery honking is directed at you.”
I startle, realizing that from the moment I laid eyes on him it was like the rest of the world melted away. I stomp on the gas and coast through the intersection just as the light turns red again.
I throw a glance over my shoulder at Aden. He winks. Quickly I whip back around, focusing on the road. Really, though, my mind is filled with him. Against the plain beige interior of my van Aden looks large and dangerous and…incongruous. He’s too exotic for this staid interior. And for staid old me.
“Look,” I tell him. “I don’t have the talentum.”
“That’s not true,” Aden immediately replies. “But it’s not why I’m here.”
“Right,” I answer, drawing the one syllable out into two, each of them dripping with sarcasm. “Then why are you watching my house and sneaking into my minivan?”
“I didn’t sneak.” There’s a hint of laughter in his voice. “The door was unlocked.”
I slap my hand against the steering wheel in frustration. “You may think this is funny, but I do not.”
“Aw, c’mon now, sweetheart, the world is wild and wily. Way I see it, when things are at their worst, the only thing a body can do is laugh.”
His low drawl is so inviting, I have to resist the urge to nod my head in agreement. Clearly I have a weakness for smooth-talking men. But if nothing else, Bert has at least done me the favor of teaching me to know better than to trust them. Or take them at their word.
